Privacy policy

Last updated 19 October 2026

Manna is a daily Bible learning app. This policy explains what we collect when you use the Manna app and this website, why, and the choices you have. We collect as little as we can, and some things we have decided never to keep at all.

What we collect

  • Your sign-in. You sign in with Apple or Google. We receive an identifier for your account, your display name and, if the provider shares it, your email address. We never see your Apple or Google password.
  • Your settings. The hour you chose for your daily reading, your time zone, your reminder settings, your chosen Bible translation, and when you confirmed you are 18 or older.
  • Your progress. The days you completed, your quiz results, your review deck and where you are in each book, so your streak and your lessons follow you to a new phone.
  • How you arrived. If you opened Manna from a link, the kind of link and its code, and when.
  • Your membership. Whether you hold a paid membership or a trial, as reported by Apple or Google. We never receive your credit card or bank details.
  • Messages you send us. If you email support, we keep the conversation to help you.

What we never keep

  • Your searches and the questions you ask in Deep Study.
  • Which books or pages you looked at beyond your own reading progress, and where you stopped reading.
  • The words you send the hard-night companion. We keep only how many messages you sent this month, so we can hold the monthly limit.
  • Advertising identifiers. Manna has no ads and uses no analytics company.

How we use it

We use this information only to run Manna for you: to show your daily reading at your hour, keep your streak and progress, send the reminders you asked for, give paid members their membership, answer your messages and keep the service safe and working. We do not sell your information or use it for advertising.

AI in Manna

Manna's lessons, questions and explanations are prepared with Claude, an AI made by Anthropic, and approved by people on our team before readers see them. Preparing lessons uses no information about you. When the hard-night companion is available and you choose to use it, the messages you write are sent to Anthropic to produce a reply and are not stored by Manna. Anthropic does not use them to train its models.

Who helps us run Manna

We use a small number of service providers, each only for the job named here:

  • Convex stores your account and progress (servers in the United States).
  • Apple and Google handle sign-in, purchases and the delivery of notifications.
  • RevenueCat tells us whether a membership is active.
  • Expo sends the daily reminders to your phone.
  • Anthropic provides Claude, as described above.
  • Sentry receives crash reports that contain no personal information.
  • Resend sends and receives our email.
  • Cloudflare serves this website.

How long we keep it

We keep your information while you have an account. When you delete your account, it is closed at once and everything we hold about you is erased within 30 days. Crash reports are kept for up to 90 days.

Your choices and rights

  • Turn reminders off at any time in the app or in your phone's settings.
  • Ask us for a copy of your information, or to correct it.
  • Delete your account: see Delete my account.

Depending on where you live, you may have further rights under laws such as the GDPR, India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act or California's privacy laws. Write to us and we will help.

Age

Manna is for adults. You must be 18 or older to use it, and we do not knowingly collect information from anyone younger.

This website

This website sets no cookies and runs no tracking. Cloudflare, which serves it, may keep basic technical logs to keep it secure.

Changes and contact

If we change this policy in a way that matters, we will update the date above and tell you in the app. Questions about your privacy: support@gathermanna.app.
